Coffee of the Month

We strive to find new and interesting coffees from around the world and bring them to you at a fair and reasonable price.  Each month, we select a coffee that stands out and is unique in its flavors, farming & processing methods, and the quality you expect from Spiral Horn Coffee.  We roast each coffee to find that “perfect spot” where the combination of conductive and convective heat in the roaster makes this particular coffee exhibit all that is has to offer.  We hope you enjoy the selection for this month!

February – We Present Honduras

Honduras produces some of the best coffee in Central Amercia.  We selected this highly prized certified organic coffee from the Loas Melocotones farm in Honduras due to its special flavors.  Salvador Santos Martinez owns the 3.5-hectare certified-organic farm Los Melocotones, which has just over 1 hectare planted with coffee plants.  This beautiful coffee captured our hearts and taste buds. Honduras is utilizing honey processing similar to our other coffee from Costa Rica.  Our February Coffee of the Month – and Michelle’s favorite!

Tasting Notes: When ground, brewed / extracted properly we detect caramel and toffee, berry, cherry and chocolate flavors; sweet with winey fruit acidity and a smooth mouthfeel.
