Narino is the southwestern-most department in Colombia along the border with Ecuador, with one of its main boundaries being the Pacific Ocean. Dry, rugged terrain and dramatic slopes and valleys create conditions that boost the quality of the coffees. Air currents carry warm and humid air from the lowlands into the higher elevations in the evening allowing the coffee to thrive at these higher elevations.
