Welcome to Spiral Horn Coffee

If you enjoy specialty coffee meticulously roasted to accent the flavor of its origin, you are at the right place!

We understand that you have options. We understand the science and techniques of roasting that accentuate the acidity, body, and flavors inherent in the coffee beans that specialty coffee farmers work so hard to produce. Taste the difference between what we believe is GREAT coffee and offerings from others. We work diligently every day to make you and coffee farmers proud of the relationship with Spiral Horn Coffee Co.

From $13.50

A magnificent coffee from Matongo town, in the Kayanza province of Burundi.  Farmers here own less than half a hectare of land, on average, and in addition to growing coffee, they also grow crops like bananas, beans, yams, taro, and cassava, both for sale and for household use.  Spiral Horn Coffee Co. donates 100% of profits from the sale of this coffee to The Cries of A Child – a Burundi based organization with a holistic approach toward restoration and empowerment on a community based level, through family-based children’s homes for orphaned and abandoned children, a community meeting room, a medical clinic, and a Bible school

Cold Brew Coffee

From $11.25

Our cold brew coffee has that rich chocolatey taste known in dark roasted Colombian coffee.  We have selected our Colombian Narino, roasted it specifically for cold brew coffee, and grind it to the proper size just for you.  We use a Brewista Cold Pro brewing system in the shop for these long hot days of summer.  Find a brewing system sized for your home use and enjoy the rich chocolate flavors of this coffee throughout the heat of the day.

We strive to find new and interesting coffees from around the world and bring them to you at a fair and reasonable price.  Each month, we select a coffee that stands out and is unique in its flavors, farming & processing methods, and the quality you expect from Spiral Horn Coffee.  We roast each coffee to find that “perfect spot” where the combination of conductive and convective heat in the roaster makes this particular coffee exhibit all that is has to offer.  We hope you enjoy the selection for this month!

Not ready to commit to a full 12 ounce bag of our coffees or not sure which one to select?  We offer all of great coffee in 4 ounce bag sizes, whole bean or ground to your brewer preference.  Try a cup, or certainly there is enough for a full pot.  Order the 4 ounce bags individually, or we can help you by selecting our most popular coffees for you via our sampler pack.

August — We Present Java!

Java is one of the oldest coffee-producing regions in the world. In the early days of coffee exports it was the most powerful and productive. Coffee was introduced throughout the islands of Indonesia by the Dutch in the 17th century. The word “java” has become slang for “coffee” because Java was one of the first islands to cultivate coffee. Above all, Javanese coffees are known for their herbaceous, complex flavor profiles that contain some acidity and a slightly cleaner cup than, for example, a classic Sumatran.

Tasting Notes: When ground and brewed properly we detect: sweet and winey fruit acidity with its smooth mouthfeel. We taste the fruity, coffee cherry, cedar and sweet chili pepper flavors.

You may enjoy the splendor of Java in this fabulous coffee from the western part of the island. Similarly, we think its truly a unique treat.
