We strive to find new and interesting coffees from around the world and bring them to you at a fair and reasonable price. Each month, we select a coffee that stands out and is unique in its flavors, farming & processing methods, and the quality you expect from Spiral Horn Coffee. We roast each coffee to find that “perfect spot” where the combination of conductive and convective heat in the roaster makes this particular coffee exhibit all that is has to offer. We hope you enjoy the selection for this month!
Not ready to commit to a full 12 ounce bag of our coffees or not sure which one to select? We offer all of great coffee in 4 ounce bag sizes, whole bean or ground to your brewer preference. Try a cup, or certainly there is enough for a full pot. Order the 4 ounce bags individually, or we can help you by selecting our most popular coffees for you via our sampler pack.
September – We present Kenyan!
The Gitwe Farmers Cooperative Society was founded in 1983 with about 650 contributing members. Each smallhold farmer grows their coffee, as well as other crops, on land averaging 2-3 acres. Coffee is picked, then brought to the Society immediately for processing. The Cooperative assists its members in seed and fertilizer selection and on-site farming guidance.
When ground and brewed/extracted properly we detect a deep sweetness and tropical fruitiness, raisin, and citrus like bright acidity with cane sugar notes. Kenyan makes our top 5 of coffees to drink. We find its balance of sweetness, bright and rich body drives us sip after sip. OK, sometimes we gulp it. Can’t help it
