Our selected coffee from Peru originates from the forested mountains of Chontali region that ring the Chunchucas river valley. The mountains of Chontali of Peru are steep, but the slopes become more moderate towards the tops allowing for coffee cultivation. The soil pH is optimal in this area of Peru for agriculture. Chontali is mountainous, hilly and wild. Cultivation of coffee started in Chontali region of Peru during the 1950s, and since then the region has blossomed and production has steadily improved.
